New Chief Panel Design

Edgesmith works tirelessly to keep up to date with fencing industry standards.  With a growing need for security and safety within the NZ building standards, we have seen a demand for more variety in Security panels and Balustrade panels. 

One panel that has stood the test of time with our NZ environment and our customers is the Chief Panel.  Taking on board security and safety requirements, we have seen this panel evolve. 

There is the recent addition of a 1.2 high balustrade and pool compliant panel.  Then we have up scaled the horizontal rails to 40x40, changed from 30x30.  With Schools wanting more security but safety also being a concern any spear top panels are generally not considered, so Edgesmith will soon be introducing a 1.8H flat top option for schools.  We have also moved away from a pressed spike, to a more modern looking mitred cut on the top of the vertical. 

As a standard, these panels are fully welded and hot dip galvanised to AS/NZ4680 standards, with the option of powder coating where this is required.

With either flat top, rod top or mitred top pickets, as well as supplied in heights of 1.2m – 2.1m, these panels are proven to be a versatile product providing a secure yet aesthetically pleasing border to any property.

We are regularly seeing these panels being installed for various applications including schools, parks, warehousing, residential and pools.

FCANZ members Apex Fencing (Auckland) and KC Fencing (Christchurch) have used this panel for many years and attest to the versatility of this product, together with the ease of installation.

The Chief is the only “off the shelf” steel fence panel which complies as a balustrade, in 1.2H (safety from falling), as well as being Pool safety compliant (all heights).
